Our story
Pomodoro D’Oro is a family-owned Italian restaurant on Amager Strandvej in Copenhagen. Everything starts in our own kitchen: we make our pizza dough and pasta from scratch, and around 90% of our menu is organic.
We put a lot of care into finding the right ingredients – from pepper grown in Cambodia to sea-salted capers from Italy and pistachios from Sicily – because great food starts with great produce. Below you can meet some of the ingredients that give our dishes their flavour.
Whether it’s a date night, a business dinner or an evening with friends, we look forward to welcoming you. Our guests seem to agree: we are rated 4.8 out of 5 on Tripadvisor and are a Travellers’ Choice 2026 winner.
Kampot pepper from Cambodia
Kampot pepper is considered one of the finest peppers in the world. It grows on tropical vines in the Kampot region of Cambodia, where the berries are picked by hand and dried in the sun.
The flavour is fresh and intense, with citrus and floral notes that balance the heat – the finishing touch on many of our pizzas.
Sea-salted capers from Italy
Our La Nicchia capers are often called “Italian caviar”. Only medium-sized capers, carefully selected for the right firmness and appearance, make the cut, and they are preserved in sea salt.
Their bright, savoury flavour lifts a pizza to another level.
Oregano from Greece
Oregano is the herb of the Mediterranean kitchen and a must in every authentic Italian pizza and tomato sauce.
Ours comes from Greece and has a delicate, spicy aroma with a strong, slightly bitter taste.
Fresh mozzarella – always
We only use fresh mozzarella: soft, bright white and full of the delicate taste of fresh milk.
Its high moisture content means it melts beautifully and keeps our pizzas light and creamy.
Bronte pistachios from Sicily
Our green pistachios come from Bronte in Sicily, famous for some of the most flavourful pistachios in the world.
Chopped and scattered over a pizza, they add a rich, nutty taste – try them on our Spiaggia di Imperia or Anatra Arancione.
Label Rouge free-range chicken
Our chickens come from traditional farms in rural France. They are corn-fed, slow-growing and raised outdoors on grassy, well-shaded land, with a diet of 100% plant material, minerals and vitamins.
Their quality is certified by the French Ministry of Agriculture with the Label Rouge (Red Label).
